There's a cool new development in summer singles: they no longer need to be sunny. In fact, the wetter the better. "Umbrella," the first single off Rihanna's ragingly good third album, may be her strongest ditty yet, and that's saying something considering her run of past summer chartbusters. More stylish than "S.O.S." (from A Girl Like Me) and more interesting than "Pon de Replay" (from Music of the Sun), "Umbrella" barrels forward with big, brawny drums and a hot but haunted-sounding vocal. From there, the upbeat numbers chug forth like chilled pina colada mix into a blender: "Breakin' Dishes" trades skillfully on a recent vogue for man-directed venom, and "Shut Up and Drive" borrows "S.O.S."-style from the '80s New Order song "Blue Monday." This album SUCKS...
I bought this album and sorry threw it into the trash. I will probably get low ratings, but I could care less, its the truth. It has a few catchy tunes, but she is a terrible SINGER!!!
If you like catchy tunes, with lack of singing this albums for you, this is the farthest I am willing to go on the review...I will never buy any of her CD's again..to the others who gave her good ratings, I consider you folks die-hards...me my opinion is objective.
This CD has changed my view on R&B
This is the first R&B CD I have ever purchased. Previously I have never felt that moved by R&B music but the work on this CD seems different somehow. I like everything about her music. Something about the music has all the movement you would get from good pop music but the lyrics are like poetry. She's amazing.
All the songs are great!
I never get tired of listening to this CD, best of all I like all of her songs. This was definately a great buy.
Good Girl Gone Bad......
I don't have a lot to say about this cd. I think it is a good cd, I ended up getting it as a gift so, I did not venture out to buy it or pick it up off itunes. The cd is pretty good, there are a few songs on here that makes your head nod but it's not anything that gets constant rotation in the ride. However, Rihanna is hott and I love looking at the cd cover! YMMV...NEOSOUL06
